Grand Illusion Part One and Celtic Solstice Complete

Bonnie Hunter's Grand Illusion Mystery has finally arrived. I have been looking forward to her new mystery quilt for months. Clue #1 was released last friday on her blog I am linking up with her this week to show my first clue. Check out her site and the other participants blogs. It is going to be amazing. Her link at Quiltville
As you can see if you are doing the Mystery quilt, I have changed up my colors and fabrics. I am a huge fan of reproduction 1800's prints. I am using 2 constant fabrics, my black (tone on tone) and the parchment shirting print, the rest will be scrappy. Below is one of my units. I have completed all my units for the first clue. I am trying to resist starting a second one with another color way since I have today and tomorrow of from work. We will see. I will link up again next week and reveal my other color choices then for this first quilt.
Below is my completed Celtic Solstice mystery quilt from last years mystery of Bonnie Hunter's. I changed my colors up some last year too and used reproduction prints. It is my favorite quilt that I have ever made and I love the pattern. Hope everyone is having a great day! Thanks for looking at my blog.

  1. I love the fabrics you are using! I think your quilt is going to be beautiful, and have such a traditional feel to it. Can't wait to see your top finished---it is going to be very different than mine, which will have brighter, modern-looking colors. It's always fun to see all the different twists people create with their fabric choices.

  6. Love those old pinks you are using. Your piecework just boggles my brain, and people tell me I have patience: But I don't have the patience and persistence of a quilter!
